Written Nudges | Every Word Proves True

Written Nudges | Every Word Proves True

Cedar Point

Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.  Proverbs 30:5

It’s easy to claim something, but quite another to validate that claim. Consider these contradictions: “Psychic newsletter.” (Would a real psychic need a newsletter?) “Faith healer” dies of cancer. “Prophetess Jane” is correct 50% of the time. (Wouldn’t most of our guesses be accurate 50% of the time?) God weighs in on that one (Check out Deut. 18:20-22).

So claiming something does not make it true. Before we accept anyone’s word about anything, we should carefully examine their track record. Is this person trustworthy? Have they proven themselves in the past? Are their words always true?

Despite millions of efforts to do so, nobody has been able to disprove the Bible. There are prophecies that have yet to be fulfilled, but hundreds are recorded that happened just as God said they would. Every word of God is a gold nugget that never loses its value. If God spoke it, then it is true whether we understand it or not. For reasons known only to Him, He has chosen to conceal much of His word in imagery, parable, and mystery. He wants us to seek truth the way a miner seeks for diamonds imbedded in stone. His words are not a series of cheap soundbites we can tweet. They are life itself. Every word, whether we understand it or not, is the only solid foundation in the universe and wise people stake everything on their reliability.

Final Thought:  Either all of God’s word is reliable or none of it is. We don’t get to choose. You can stake your life on it.
Prayer: Lord, there are a lot of things in the Bible that I don’t understand, and frankly, don’t like much. But you’re God and I’m not. You have a reason for putting those things in your written word, so I receive them as my life’s foundation. Amen.
