OUR HISTORY

In 2006 Rick Burke moved back to his hometown of Claremore after having been in Clovis, New Mexico for over 17 years. His desire was to start a church and give the rest of his life there. A group of friends felt called to help with this new church. As they began to look for a facility they were introduced to a group of people that had been leading and serving in a church called New Life Church. As the groups talked it seemed that God had something in mind that neither of the groups had known about and that was the merging of these two groups. Their joining together would form a church known as Cedar Point Church.

On October 22, 2006 Cedar Point Church had its official launch service.

After that official first weekend we were meeting in what is now known as the hospitality room. At that time we were averaging an attendance of 40-50 people. As the church outgrew that room the decision was made to rent a space next door in what was known as Pizza Time. Eventually Cedar Point Church rented the empty facility on the north side of the center it’s in. We remodeled it and in 2009 had our first service in the worship center we now meet in. From day one, we have seen the goodness of God as He has continued to bless us and help us in our journey together as a Claremore church.

OUR CULTURE

We are a church that emphasizes the importance of relationships. We want to be culturally relevant as we communicate a biblically based message. Even though the source of what we share never changes, the method in which we share it will. Seeing people begin a relationship with Jesus or restore a relationship with Him they once had is a big deal to us.  We believe that everyone matters, and that everyone has a part in what God is doing here in Claremore. People from different seasons of life and different backgrounds gather here. We believe that personal agendas are a distraction to what God has called us to do, and we want to do all things with excellence.

We create an atmosphere that is not just friendly, but also relational.
To want to have music that connects with the culture of this area.
Our messages communicate in a creative way a culturally relevant message that is biblically based.
We know that the way to speak into someone’s heart is to serve our way there.
